4-H Shooting Sports Booklets

Designed to accompany 4-H Shooting Sports trainings, these booklets offer practical advice on preparing and consuming wild game. They offer food safety information, instructions on how to properly field dress wild game, nutrition information, and tasty recipes to help you bring a harvest from field to table.  The lesson plans are designed to cover materials in the booklet in a group education setting.

Booklets for veterans programs

WWIA Participant Booklets

These booklets are designed to serve as a resource for participants in the Returning Warriors: Outdoor Recreation, Restoration, & Resilience Study. They offer advice on preparing and consuming wild game from field to table, including food safety and nutrition information, recipes, and cooking tips.

Outreach Recipe Cards

These recipe cards are great take-home materials to accompany workshops on wild game. The cards print four to a page and should be printed double-sided so that the recipe is on one side and the Wild Harvest Table information is on the other.

Food Preservation

This section offers the lesson on meat preservation led by Cornell Cooperative Extension home food preservation experts Katherine Humphrey and Judy Price. Please note that, due to food safety concerns, you should not lead a food preservation workshop for others unless you have been trained to do so.
